- Engagement records and working papers once a formal audit engagement begins (governed also by professional retention rules)
Purposes and legal bases
We process enquiry data to respond to estimate requests and schedule planning calls (legitimate interests and steps prior to contract). Newsletter sign-ups rely on your request to receive notes. Analytics, if enabled by consent, help us understand which pages are useful. Engagement files are processed to perform the contracted audit and meet professional obligations.
Retention
Unsuccessful enquiry correspondence is typically retained for up to 24 months. Newsletter addresses remain until you unsubscribe. Audit working papers and engagement correspondence are retained for periods required by Japanese professional standards and applicable law, often several years after report issuance.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share information with IT hosting providers under confidentiality terms, with professional advisers, or when required by law or regulatory bodies. Group auditors coordinating component work receive only what the engagement letter permits.
International transfers
Our primary operations are in Japan. If a hosting or email provider processes data outside Japan, we take steps appropriate under Japanese privacy law, such as contractual safeguards, before transfer.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal data we hold about you, and you may object to certain processing.
